Hi, I'm Anna!
Welcome to my sassy, creative corner of the world :)
I’m Anna—the owner and designer behind Norlo Design. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks, baby!), but I originally grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A year after graduating, I packed up everything I owned and moved to Denver, Colorado in 2019 with my soon-to-be husband. I launched Norlo Design in 2021 as a design studio focused on beverage packaging. My love for that niche started back in college when I was hired as the graphic designer for Big Grove Brewery (shoutout to them!). Designing beer labels and packaging quickly became something I was obsessed with.
From 2019 to 2023, I worked as a designer for a brewery here in Denver. In 2022, I applied for an art contest hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild called Colorado Pint Day. Each year, they release a collectible pint glass designed by a different artist, and beer lovers across the state rush to get their hands on one.
I won the contest in both 2022 and 2023—and somewhere around 30,000 glasses with my artwork were sold each year. Totally surreal, and easily one of my proudest moments as a designer.
My 2023 design featured animated pint glass characters (shown below), and that piece ended up being a major turning point for me.
Designing those little characters quickly became one of my favorite creative outlets. After Colorado Pint Day in 2023, I started thinking—what other beverages could I bring to life in my animated style? Not long after, I was invited to be part of a local art market. I said yes… even though I didn’t have a single product.
I scrambled to create a few stickers and art prints, and to my surprise, they sold really well! That market kicked off the product side of Norlo Design, and from there, everything snowballed. In 2023, I shifted my focus to designing mostly products, and I’ve been loving the flexibility and creative freedom it brings.
I always aim to have fun with my designs, and more than anything, I want them to make you smile—or better yet, laugh.
To everyone who’s supported me or bought something from my shop: thank you. It means the world to me that I get to bring a little joy to your day (and to the people you love). Thanks for following along :)
